Legal Nodes is a global legal platform that connects tech businesses with vetted law, tax and privacy experts across more than 20 countries.

They simplify complex legal projects, making it easier for innovative companies to tackle challenges that come with cross-border operations and regulatory compliance. Their clients include startups working with AI systems, large language models (LLMs), and other advanced AI products that need legal clarity on licensing, training data, and sensitive data compliance across jurisdictions.

In early 2025, we teamed up with them to help speed up their international growth and boost their inbound conversions.

Market and compliance challenges

Launching this SEO campaign introduced several unique challenges:

  • Short planning cycles: Content planning was limited, shifting monthly with no long-term editorial roadmap in place.
  • Team transition: A new content manager joined and required rapid adaptation to new expectations.
  • Resource constraints: The budget for link building was minimal, and internal resources for building authority were limited.
  • Competitive space: We were up against established, expert-led platforms with strong online authority.
  • Complex content requirements: Legal topics demanded up-to-date knowledge of US and EU law, as well as fast-evolving regulations around natural language processing, retrieval augmented generation (RAG), and LLM system design. Addressing these issues required deep contextual information and editorial oversight.
  • TOFU content focus: The client prioritized top-of-funnel website content to drive awareness, rather than focusing on middle- or bottom-funnel pieces.
  • Urgency for results: There were high expectations for rapid keyword rankings and measurable business outcomes.

Solution: Personalized SEO content strategy and approach

To overcome these challenges, we developed a compliance-first SaaS marketing plan that fosters agility and authority.

In-depth market and competitor analysis

We benchmarked Legal Nodes against direct and indirect competitors in the legal tech space. It included an analysis of their content strategies, backlink profiles and keyword footprints.

Because the client serves different industries where large language models LLMs and generative AI systems are deployed, we mapped out how legal questions about data sources, knowledge retrieval, and decision making in various tasks differ across various industries.

We also tracked new regulatory trends in key markets to make sure our content addresses timely pain points for tech founders and their legal teams—such as money laundering risks in crypto compliance or the need to ensure sensitive data handling when deploying LLM systems in multiple languages.

Agile goal setting and audience prioritization

With monthly shifting priorities, we established a flexible SEO roadmap that aligns with the client’s business objectives. The main goal was to increase the number of booked meetings.

We created detailed personas for tech and crypto startup founders, as well as legal officers and compliance managers, to ensure that content addressed their most pressing legal and operational challenges. Many of them were navigating common challenges such as regulations for training data, sentiment analysis, and the use of artificial intelligence tools in compliance-heavy markets.

Content audit and ideation

We audited the existing content library to identify high-performing assets, compliance gaps and opportunities for internal linking.

Using competitor insights and audience research, we brainstormed and prioritized topics that balanced educational value, search demand and regulatory relevance. Here it was equally important to consider both immediate ranking potential and long-term authority-building.

Advanced keyword research and content planning

Our keyword research focused on high-intent, low-competition queries related to new regulations, cryptocurrency licensing, and cross-border legal needs.

We mapped these into a dynamic monthly content plan, targeting evergreen and trending topics. Articles included relevant keywords not only for search visibility but also for the audience’s compliance needs.

Each article was written to answer specific legal questions, target featured snippets and achieve visibility in AI Overviews and answer engines like Perplexity—particularly in areas tied to LLM system design, retrieval augmented generation, and data analysis for compliance.

Expert content creation and editorial review

Our content production included detailed briefs for each article to ensure writers had clear guidance on legal accuracy, compliance and search intent.

The content was written by legal subject matter experts and reviewed by the content manager, CEO and legal team. This multi-layered editorial process ensured authority and compliance for every piece of content, while also reducing the need for extensive human intervention later in editing.

The end result was a series of articles tailored to LLM systems, natural language processing, sentiment analysis, and other compliance-heavy topics. Each piece showcased Legal Nodes’ expertise while building trust with audiences in highly regulated spaces.

Examples:

On-page SEO and technical optimization

We optimized every article for both traditional search engines and AI-driven platforms.

We implemented best practices for on-page SEO, including structured data, schema markup, semantic keyword integration and strategic internal linking.

Meta tags and CTAs were written to support a positive user experience and drive conversions while maintaining strict compliance with legal and privacy standards.

With limited resources, we launched a targeted outreach campaign to secure high authority backlinks from US-based legal and cryptocurrency publications (DA 60+, 1,000+ organic traffic).

We also used our industry connections to get brand mentions and editorial links to boost Legal Nodes’ domain authority and credibility.

The client’s internal team’s efforts in link building and maintaining excellent site health helped us rank our content faster.

Advanced analytics and LLM traffic monitoring

We set up advanced tracking using Google Analytics 4, Google Search Console and specialized tools to monitor Large Language Model (LLM) traffic.

Conversion tracking was set up to measure booked meetings and engagement events.

Regular performance reviews allowed us to adapt quickly, optimize for both traditional and AI-driven searches and improve our strategy based on real-time data.

From prompt design to fine tuning and feedback loops, understanding how users interact with queries ensures better visibility. For enterprises deploying LLMs at scale, this case study illustrates how to turn training data into measurable outcomes.
